womeni.s.e. – standing for women who inspire, support and encourage – is the newest sub-group of the Bendigo Business Council. Like the Young Professionals Network, womeni.s.e. is a niche forum which supplements the excellent work of the BBC.

Bendigo benefits hugely from the contribution made by women every day; whether it’s in business, on boards and committees, in education, health or not-for profit organisations or in caring for families. It is important that a city with a future as strong as Bendigo’s provides opportunities for women to be supported and encouraged in their endeavours and to share experiences and learnings – be it with other women or with men from the community.

womeni.s.e. is auspiced by some of Bendigo’s leading women and held its first event – a sell-out evening which featured three prominent Bendigo women – in September 2010 after the formation of a dedicated start-up group.

The new group aims to hold at least four functions a year, where local women will be able to meet and mingle and listen to inspirational speakers.
